Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro published, this Sunday (30), photos of the prison in the United States and a new message on his Instagram profile. The images are dated August 25th. “Enjoy this small gift with joy and hope,” writes Maduro, who is dressed in a gray sweatshirt and white sneakers.
Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Congresswoman Cília Flores, have been imprisoned since January 3, when they were kidnapped in an attack ordered by US President Donald Trump.
“I want you to know that we are firm, with our hearts full of love for you. This love that comes to us in the form of prayer, in permanent action, in solidarity and in true support. Infinite gratitude for every word, every gesture, for every blessing”, wrote the Venezuelan leader.
Maduro’s last public appearance took place on July 22 during a court hearing, in which the start of his trial in the United States was confirmed for June 1, 2027. Despite the illegal arrest, the Chavista leader will face charges of narcoterrorism, drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons, which he denies.

Small gift of love and hope
I send these photos as a small gift to all my grandchildren, to the children and to all the kind people who love us. I want you to know that we are firm, with our hearts full of love for you. This love that comes to us in the form of prayer, in permanent action, in solidarity and in true support. Infinite gratitude for every word, every gesture, for every blessing.
Enjoy this small gift with joy and hope. Cilia and I embrace you forever, with our hearts turned to you and our faith in God unshakable. As the apostle Paul said, ‘In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us’ (Romans 8:37). We will remain strong, serene and confident: God is with us. God will provide. Venezuela will be reborn.
