The President of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican), said, on Friday (17.Jul.2026), that a next edition of the World Cup could be held in the country without Canada and Mexico in the organization. The speech was made in a joking tone during an event with the president of Fifa, Gianni Infantinoheld at Trump Tower, in New York (USA).
“You [Fifa] they should choose the United States of America again. This time, we would leave Mexico and Canada out.”declared the president. The 2026 World Cup was the 2nd with the USA as host country. The first time was in 1994, when Brazil won the fourth title.
