More than 30 civilians have been killed and 260 injured in US attacks on southern Iran in recent days, according to the Iranian government. Government spokesperson, Fatemeh Mohajerani, communicated the number this Wednesday (15) and offered solidarity to the families. She stated that southern Iran is the “beating heart” of the country and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the region after the attacks.

“We express our solidarity and condolences to the bereaved families, and we honor the memory of the deceased. The government will stand by the people with all its strength”, says the message.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baqaei, stated that the attacks represent new “war crimes” by the United States against Iran. In a publication on

Baqaei reported that an environmental protection post in the village of Seyyed Jowzar, in Hajjiabad, was hit and that three members of the family of environmental guard Javad Hassanzadeh died in the attack. The episode is part of a campaign started on February 28, 2026 by the USA and Israel, with attacks that, according to the Iranian government, targeted leaders, children, women and men in Tehran, Minab, Lamerd and other locations.

Iran also accused Washington of violating the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, signed on June 17, 2026, which provided for the immediate cessation of military operations and the search for a diplomatic solution to the conflict. In a letter sent to the United Nations (UN) on July 13, Iranian ambassador Saeed Iravani asked the Security Council to adopt measures against violations of the agreement. According to the representative, military attacks, the resumption of sanctions and other measures by the United States put international peace and security at risk.

In response to the attacks, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it launched missiles and drones at US military installations in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan. According to the corporation, the targets included command centers, logistics centers, air defense systems, installations linked to aircraft, depots of military parts and equipment, fuel tanks and other structures.

According to the statement, shelters storing F-15, F-16 and F-35 fighter jets, as well as MQ-9 drones, were destroyed. The corporation stated that part of the United States’ military operations against Iran were launched from bases installed in Jordanian territory and called on the people of Jordan to prevent the use of the country for attacks against Islamic nations and the Palestinian people. It also declared that the population must seize every opportunity to “destroy American institutions and expel the United States occupation army from Jordan.”

In another statement, the Revolutionary Guard said its Navy attacked US Fifth Fleet facilities in Bahrain. According to the corporation, the NSI management center, the command and control center, military parts and equipment depots and fuel storage facilities were hit. Iran stated that the operation was a response to the deployment of United States naval forces to the Indian Ocean and the blockade of maritime routes under the justification of controlling the Strait of Hormuz, a measure that, according to the Iranian government, affected oil and gas exports from the region.

“The enemy must know that now that its pirates have blocked the Indian Ocean route for exporting the region’s oil and gas to the world, a move that puts the interests of the United States’ economic rivals at risk, it must expect that other oil and gas export routes that serve the interests of the United States and its allies will also be closed,” the corporation said. He then stated that “oil and gas exports from the region will be available to everyone or no one”.

The United States Central Command reported that it concluded a new round of strikes against Iran lasting 90 minutes. According to the agency, the operation used precision munitions against coastal defense systems and cruise missile storage and launch sites on the island of Greater Tunb. The United States said the offensive was aimed at destroying coastal military installations used to attack commercial vessels and reducing Iran’s ability to target ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
