The Federal Police concluded a Disciplinary Administrative Process (PAD) against former federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and recommended his dismissal from the corporation for abandoning his position. Clerk of the institution, he has been away from his duties without justification since moving to the United States. The final word on the case belongs to the Minister of Justice, Wellington Lima.
In June of this year, the former parliamentarian was convicted by the Federal Supreme Court (STF) of coercion in the course of justice. The Court understood that he acted to embarrass Brazilian authorities and try to interfere in the criminal proceedings against former president Jair Bolsonaro, arrested for an attempted coup d’état.
The position of clerk at the Federal Police has a starting salary of around R$14,000, an amount that increases as your career progresses. If the Minister of Justice confirms the PAD’s recommendation, Eduardo Bolsonaro’s dismissal from the corporation will be effective.
At the end of last year, the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies also declared the loss of its mandate, due to the number of unjustified absences.
Eduardo has lived in the United States since the beginning of 2025, under the allegation of suffering political persecution in Brazil. During the period in which he remained abroad, he coordinated with the Donald Trump government the adoption of sanctions against Brazilian authorities and defended the imposition of tariffs that affect different sectors of the national economy.
On Monday (20), the US government granted the former congressman a Green Card, a document that authorizes permanent residence in the country. The authorization is initially valid for ten years and allows Eduardo to live and work legally in US territory.
