Decrease in the prices of transport, leisure and culture, food and non-alcoholic drinks contributed to the drop in the rate

UK inflation over the 12 months fell to 3.9% in November. This is the lowest level since October 2021. The result represents a drop of 0.7 percentage points compared to October, when it was 4.6%. The data was released this Wednesday (Dec 20, 2023) by the Office of National Statistics. According to the document (PDF – 2 MB, in English), the decrease in the prices of transport, leisure and culture, food and non-alcoholic drinks was what contributed most to the drop in the rate. Monthly inflation slowed to 0.2%.
