Crypto company OWS has a history of investigations in Brazil before the PF, Congress and Justice

The United States Court determined that the OWS (One World Services), plataforma de cryptoassets which received US$531 million (around R$2.8 billion) from Banco Master between 2018 and 2021, provide information about operations. The decision was announced by Estadão.

The request, made by the bank’s liquidator and authorized by Judge Scott M. Grossman, of the Southern District of Florida Bankruptcy Court, brings together 16 requests. Among them are contracts with Daniel Vorcaro and companies linked to it, records of services and assets under custody, financial transactions, origin of resources and communications via applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal and iMessage.

The transfers were carried out when the bank was still called Máxima and was already under the management of Vorcaro. OWS is headquartered in Delaware, an American state known for its corporate rules that make it easier to form companies and that can make it difficult to identify their owners and beneficiaries.

The liquidator intends to clarify whether the US$531 million sent to OWS belonged to Banco Master’s assets or whether they were customer resources. The investigation also seeks to identify the destination of the values and verify possible links between the platform’s operations and companies linked to the Vorcaro group.

The company is also being investigated in Brazil for operations with crypto assets and international transfers. OWS was the target of Operation Colossus, which investigates billion-dollar movements and suspected money laundering, and was also called upon to provide clarifications to the CPI of Financial Pyramids.
