The stock market followed the more favorable external environment, while investors monitored the Middle East, Treasuries and inflation

Ibovespa, B3’s main index, rose 1.61% this Tuesday (Aug. 25, 2026), to 174,667.94 points. The index fluctuated from a minimum of 171,178.88 points to a maximum of 174,784.92 points. The financial volume was R$17.15 billion. This is the 5th increase in a row.

In exchange, the commercial dollar fell 0.25%, to R$5.140. The currency reached a maximum of R$5.166 and a minimum of R$5.139 during the trading session. The fall was marked by the more favorable external environment and the decline in US bond yields.

The dollar’s movement accompanied the fall in oil and lower risk aversion in light of signs of negotiations between the US and Iran. Despite the relief, uncertainties remain about the evolution of the war in the Middle East and its effects on the global oil supply.

Investors also followed Treasuries – US Treasury bonds –, whose yields fell, favoring risky assets. In Brazil, the market positioned itself before the release of August’s IPCA-15 this Wednesday (Aug. 26), an important indicator for expectations about inflation and the trajectory of the Selic.
