Far-right commentator and supporter of Donald Trump’s anti-immigration policies, Milo Yiannopoulos was detained by agents of the US Immigration and Customs Service, known by the acronym ICE, and is awaiting deportation.
According to the US Department of Homeland Security, Yiannopoulos was arrested at New Orleans International Airport last Thursday (27) and was classified as an “illegal alien from the United Kingdom”.
Still according to official information from the US government, he entered the country in 2019 and received a final order to leave US territory on July 22, 2026, after failing to attend his immigration hearing.
In September 2025, Yiannopoulos posted on the social network X: “Total legal immunity for ICE agents doing their job.” In July of that same year, he wrote: “California needs checkpoints at entrances to supermarkets, gas stations, shopping malls, intersections and government buildings, with immediate deportation for anyone who cannot prove they are in the US legally.”
Misogyny, neo-Nazism and pedophilia
Milo Yiannopoulos’ past brings together a series of scandals, prejudiced comments and connections with far-right and neo-Nazi figures.
He became publicly known about a decade ago, coming out as a gay man on a crusade for unfettered free speech and against political correctness.
Milo Yiannopoulos collaborated with the far-right website Breitbart News between 2014 and 2017 and, using his position within the outlet, was one of the most vocal supporters of Gamergatea series of attacks against women in the world of video games.
He resigned from Breitbart News after the repercussion of videos in which he relativized sexual relations between 13-year-old boys and older men – for Yiannopoulos, it would only constitute “pedophilia” if it were with pre-pubescent children.
That same year, he was filmed singing karaoke while an audience of neo-Nazis gave the salute known as Sieg Heil (with the arm extended straight forward).
Yiannopoulos has already been heavily involved in American politics: in 2016, he supported Donald Trump in the Republican’s first campaign for the White House; in 2022, after all the scandals, he was hired as an intern in the office of then Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.
