US President says that Iran has no navy or air force and that the Revolutionary Guard is “decimated and on the run”
The President of the United States, Donald Trump (Republican Party), stated this Wednesday (12.Aug.2026) that Washington has total control over the Strait of Hormuz and that Iran does not have the military or financial conditions to reverse the situation.
In a post on his profile on the Truth Social network, Trump declared that the American naval blockade in the region is called by everyone “steel wall” and said he believes the United States will maintain that position. According to Trump, “there is nothing Iran can do about it”.
The American’s speech came 1 day after Iran stated that will keep closed the Strait of Hormuz until the United States accepts the 6 conditions presented by the Iranians to end the war.
This Wednesday, Trump listed a series of weaknesses that, in his assessment, make any Iranian response unfeasible. He stated that the country does not have an operational navy or air force, that the remaining soldiers are not receiving pay and that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is “decimated and on the run”.
As for the political leadership of the regime, Trump said it was “uncertain at best”.
In the US president’s assessment, the Iranian economic situation is equally critical. “They have no money — their country is ‘finished’”Trump said, adding that all Iran would have would be “fake news” and inflation of 300%.
Trump concluded: “Iran is all talk and no action, the bully of the Middle East is no more. Praise be to Allah.”
