Ingredients

  • 1 cup of wheat flour

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

  • Oil or cooking spray to grease the pan

Directions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk and melted butter. 
    Mix well.
  • Pour the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredient mixture and stir until the batter is smooth. 
    The dough may have some lumps, but avoid stirring too much.
  • Heat a frying pan over medium heat and coat it with oil or cooking spray.
  • Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter into the hot skillet to form each pancake. 
    Cook until bubbles start to form on the surface of the pancake and the edges are firm.
  • Flip the pancake with a spatula and cook the other side until golden.
  • Repeat the process with the rest of the dough.
  • Serve the pancakes hot with maple syrup, fresh fruit, honey or whatever you prefer.
