President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva participates next Tuesday (17) in the G7 summit, countries with the major economies of the planet, which will take place in Canada. Invited to participate in the debates to talk about energy security, Lula will address the theme the protection of people, nations and world peace.

Shortly after Israel’s attacks on Iran, Itamaraty issued the following note: “The attacks threaten to immerse the whole region in a wide conflict, with a high risk to peace, security and the world economy. Brazil urges all parties involved in the exercise of the maximum containment and exhort to the immediate end of hostilities.”

In addition to Brazil, they were invited to the South African meeting, Australia, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, India and Mexico.

In his speech, Lula will be face to face with US President Donald Trump, but there is no forecast of bilateral meeting between the two.

According to the Secretary of Climate, Energy and Environment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mauricio Lyrio, Lula’s participation in G7 is very important because the country will be the host of COP30.

“It is an opportunity for the president to talk about the organization of COP30 and to invite the other leaders to come to Brazil. And the main discussion of the G7 has a direct connection with what will be treated at COP30,” said the ambassador.

Brazil maintains with the members of the G7 Coordination on International Agenda themes, either bilaterally or within the G20 and international organizations in which Brazil and members of the interact group.
