Brazil was the stage this weekend from a series of acts against Israel’s attacks on Palestinians, who added to others performed around the world, as part of the global march to Gaza. The growing indignation reflects the continuity of genocidal policy that the government of Benjamin Netanyahu has been imposing on the Gaza Strip since October 2023 and has killed more than 50,000 people, most of which children and women.

The acts were summoned by social and political movements and support entities to the Palestinian cause and had as its central point the end of extermination and the defense of the breakdown of Brazil’s relations with Israel.

In São Paulo, the demonstration took place this Sunday (15), starting from Roosevelt Square, in the Center, and ending in Charles Miller Square. The demonstration is being considered the largest in support of the Palestinian people recently held in Brazil.

Thiago Ávila, – one of the Flotilha Freedom activists arrested by Israel when performing humanitarian action in Gaza – also participated in the act. “It is very important to know that we are millions and billions around the world that we decide to stop the genocide that murders hungry children, who bombard schools, hospitals, day care centers, residential neighborhoods and is actually directed by a religion, but by racist and supremacist ideology called Zionism that has been practicing ethnic genocide and ethnic cleaning against the Palestinian people,” he said.
