The Iranian state agency Tasnim reported this Saturday (4) that crossings through the Strait of Hormuz for ships carrying cargo of goods and essential items are permitted, including vessels already in the Gulf of Oman.
According to the agency, the authorization does not represent a complete reopening of the route, but rather a specific flexibility.
Hormuz is blocked due to the war with the United States and Israel. 20% of all oil sold in the world is transported through this location.

The passage is one of the main maritime routes in the world, as it connects the Persian Gulf to the Indian Ocean. Oil and agricultural products are transported on the sea route.
With the closure of the crossing, global trade was hit and the price of oil soared on the international market.
Nations not hostile to the Iranians were already allowed to travel through the Strait.
