Ingredients
2 cups (tea) of wheat flour
1 cup cornstarch (tea)
1/2 cup (tea) sugar
1/2 cup butter (ointment)
4 egg yolks
zest of 1 lemon
500 g of dulce de leche
200 g of milk chocolate
50 g of butter
Directions
- In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, cornstarch and sugar.
- In another bowl, beat the butter with the egg yolks until fluffy.
- Add the egg and lemon zest and beat again.
- Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until a homogeneous dough forms.
- Roll out the dough with a rolling pin between two plastic wraps, leaving it 0.5 cm thick.
- Cut the dough into circles 5 cm in diameter.
- Place the circles on a baking tray lined with baking paper and place in a preheated oven at 180ºC for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Spread the dulce de leche over half of the dough discs.
- Place the other dough discs on top of the dulce de leche, pressing lightly to make them stick.
- Melt the chocolate with the butter in a bain-marie or in the microwave.
- Dip the alfajores in the chocolate coating.
- Let it dry at room temperature.
