Ingredients

  • 2 cups (tea) of wheat flour

  • 1 cup cornstarch (tea)

  • 1/2 cup (tea) sugar

  • 1/2 cup butter (ointment)

  • 4 egg yolks

  • zest of 1 lemon

  • 500 g of dulce de leche

  • 200 g of milk chocolate

  • 50 g of butter

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, cornstarch and sugar.
  • In another bowl, beat the butter with the egg yolks until fluffy.
  • Add the egg and lemon zest and beat again.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture and mix until a homogeneous dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough with a rolling pin between two plastic wraps, leaving it 0.5 cm thick.
  • Cut the dough into circles 5 cm in diameter.
  • Place the circles on a baking tray lined with baking paper and place in a preheated oven at 180ºC for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  • Spread the dulce de leche over half of the dough discs.
  • Place the other dough discs on top of the dulce de leche, pressing lightly to make them stick.
  • Melt the chocolate with the butter in a bain-marie or in the microwave.
  • Dip the alfajores in the chocolate coating.
  • Let it dry at room temperature.
