US President says he is “close to making a decision” on the offensive
United States President Donald Trump (Republican Party) said he is considering a “massive attack” to Iran. In an interview with Axios on Thursday (23.Jul.2026), the Republican declared that the offensive would be “bigger than ever”.
Trump disse: “I’m close to making a decision. We’re ready for it”. According to the American president, Israel “would join in 2 minutes” if he asked, but the U.S. “they don’t need anyone” to attack Iran.
The US has intensified offensives on Iran in recent days to prevent Iranians from blocking the movement of commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
The United States Armed Forces concluded on Thursday (July 23) the 13th consecutive night of bombings of the Persian country.
In a statement, Centcom (United States Central Command) said that the operation reached “Iranian military command centers, drone storage facilities, communications networks, coastal surveillance sites and maritime capabilities to further diminish the threat Iran poses to civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz”.
The uncertain environment in the Middle East causes oil prices to fluctuate rapidly, as the market reacts to military actions, statements by authorities and the possibility of new economic embargoes or restrictions on international trade in the commodity.
The price of a barrel of Brent oil surpassed the US$ 100 mark on Thursday morning (Jul 23). At 7:05 am this Friday (Jul 24), it was quoted at US$ 97.29.
