Ukraine carried out an offensive with around 350 drones against Russian regions in the early hours of Monday (13). In Pionersky, on the outskirts of Moscow, one of the attacks killed three people and injured three others.

According to local authorities, most of the drones were shot down “on distant approaches”, while 50 were destroyed on approach to Moscow.

According to Moscow Governor Andrei Vorobyov, “81 drones were shot down and neutralized” over the region in the early hours of Monday. Additionally, residential buildings were reported to have been damaged in Solnechnogorsk and Mozhaisk.

The Russian Ministry of Defense, in turn, reported that, from 8 pm to 8 am, 342 Ukrainian drones were “intercepted and destroyed” over 14 Russian regions. The mayor of Moscow, Serguei Sobyanian, declared this Monday morning that, as of 8:30 pm, “more than 350 enemy drones were flying towards the Moscow region” and 50 drones were “destroyed on approach” to the capital.

The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on the new offensive. In recent months, Ukraine has intensified drone attacks on Russian regions, focusing on the country’s oil refineries.

Russia also carried out an attack against Ukrainian regions this Monday (13). According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 123 drones were shot down overnight. It was reported that Russia used three Kh-59/69 guided missiles and 134 drones.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that all three missiles and 123 drones had been “shot down or neutralized,” and six attack drones, along with debris, were “registered as impacts.”

Later, the Russian Armed Forces launched a second airstrike in the Odessa region, where bombings were reported on a vehicle depot, buses were set on fire and four people were injured.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the increase in Ukrainian attacks, stated that the responses on Russian territory will be “mirrored and several times more powerful”.

“Our responses will always be mirrored. No matter where they try to attack on Russian territory, we will respond in kind, only several times more powerful. The enemy will feel it. I hope he already feels it. And he will feel it in the future, on an ever larger scale,” he said.
