Ingredients
1 tray of shimeji (about 200g)
2 tablespoons sesame oil (or cooking oil)
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Salt to taste
Chopped chives for garnish (optional)
Directions
- Clean the shimeji by separating the mushrooms individually.
- Cut the base of the shimeji, removing the hard part.
- Heat the sesame oil in a frying pan or wok over medium heat.
- Add the chopped garlic to the hot oil and stir until it turns golden.
- Add the shimeji mushrooms to the pan and stir well so they absorb the flavor of the garlic and oil.
- Pour the soy sauce over the shimeji and continue stirring.
- Taste and adjust the flavor with salt if necessary.
Remember that soy sauce is already salty, so add salt with caution. - Cook for a few more minutes until the shimeji is cooked but still firm.
- Avoid overcooking to maintain the crispy texture.
- Serve the shimeji hot, sprinkled with chopped chives, if desired.
