In addition to being delicious, it is rich in protein and omega-3 fatty acids, which are very good for your health. Its creamy texture and balanced flavor make pâté an excellent choice for family gatherings, parties or even to enhance your everyday menu.
Ingredients
1 can of sardines in oil or water (125g)
1/2 small onion, chopped
1 crushed garlic clove (optional)
1/2 cup (tea) of mayonnaise
2 tablespoons of cream (optional, for a lighter texture)
Juice of half a lemon
Salt and black pepper to taste
Chopped green onions (parsley and chives) to taste
Olive oil (if needed to adjust texture)
Directions
- Remove the sardines from the can, discard any excess oil or water, and remove the bones if desired.
- In a bowl, mash the sardines well with a fork until they form a paste. Add the onion, garlic (optional), mayonnaise, cream, lemon juice, salt and black pepper. Mix everything very well until smooth.
- If the pâté is too thick, add a dash of olive oil or a little more cream until you reach the desired consistency.
- Add the chopped chives and mix again. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This helps intensify the flavors and cool the mixture.
