The current critical situation in Western Asia, marked by the genocide against the Palestinian and now Lebanese people, perpetrated by the Zionist regime of Israel, and the ongoing wars of aggression launched by the USA and the Zionist State against Iran and Lebanon, leave no room for doubt. In complicity with US imperialism, Israel is a structurally aggressor, warmongering and expansionist country, whose political and economic survival depends on the perpetuation of conflict and territorial rapine. The massacre in Lebanon last Wednesday (8) is the most horrendous face of this phenomenon.

The “protracted war” strategy adopted by the Tel Aviv regime reveals a profound annexationist project, carried out in absolute symbiosis with US imperialism. This umbilical alliance transforms Israel into Washington’s spearhead in the region, functioning as an advanced military base designed to stifle any glimmer of sovereignty in Arab countries and Iran. It also shows the criminal nature of Zionism in its state form.

The intensification of the Israeli military presence in the region points to a relevant reconfiguration of its war strategy. We can observe the consolidation of a logic based on prolonged occupation and the creation of “security buffer zones”, a pretext for territorial occupation and permanent war.

This scenario suggests that Israel is preparing for a horizon of long-term conflict, in which territorial occupation becomes a central strategic element.

Currently, Israel exercises direct or indirect control over more than half of the Gaza Strip, maintains operations and military positions in areas of Syria and Lebanon and expands its operations in the occupied West Bank. This pattern demonstrates that Israel’s warmongering action has a structural character, with a low probability of resolution in the short term. It is colonialism in its crudest form, where the destruction of entire villages and the expulsion of native populations are justified by a doctrine of “endless war” that ignores national sovereignties and international law itself.

Furthermore, militarized territorial expansion tends to generate significant side effects, such as increased regional tensions, population displacements and greater involvement of external powers, deepening the geopolitical complexity of the Middle East.

From the Nile to the Euphrates, Israel is the enemy

The Israeli strategy is functional to the idea of “Greater Israel”. Although some of its defenders interpret it as a religious or identity reference, it has a geopolitical meaning especially in the current context of tensions and wars. Any project that suggests expanding borders on an exclusivist basis refers to the state-zionist power projection and inevitably raises legitimate resistance and struggle from its opponents. From a political and diplomatic point of view, the evocation of this idea makes negotiated solutions to regional conflicts, such as the Palestinian issue, even more difficult, by reinforcing perceptions of hegemony. Furthermore, expansionist speeches negatively impact regional stability and international relations. By following this path, Israel reaffirms its status as a historical enemy of the peoples of Western Asia. The expansionist strategy is, in fact, a permanent declaration of war against regional autonomy. The Zionist regime seeks the total capitulation of its neighbors. This bellicose stance isolates the country and puts it on a direct collision course with the popular masses, as the Israeli military presence is the brutal instrument of imperialist domination, the direct extension of the imperialist boot that has been trying to subjugate the region for decades.

People’s war and prolonged resistance

However, the history of anti-imperialist struggles teaches that unbridled oppression inevitably generates its own antithesis. Israel’s bet on a long-term war is triggering prolonged resistance by the forces that make up the Axis of Resistance. What is emerging is a kind of prolonged people’s war, structured on multiple fronts that the Zionist and imperialist technological apparatus is incapable of nullifying.

This resistance manifests itself in a multidimensional way, armed struggle, political and mass struggle and diplomatic action. The Axis of Resistance forces have an immense network of solidarity in countries with a global majority, which amplifies the moral and political isolation of Israel and its imperialist guarantors, exposing the innards of a system that preaches democracy while financing genocide and annexation.

The limit of brute force

The illusion that military superiority can buy eternal security through territorial expansion is crumbling. The symbiosis between Israel and US imperialism created a warmongering monster that, by trying to devour the sovereignty of its neighbors, ends up unifying the regional revolutionary camp. Israel’s protracted war will not lead to victory, but to a morass of attrition where the resilience of the people — driven by anti-imperialist consciousness — will prove superior to the tanks and missiles of the occupation. In the end, history will be written by those who resist, and not by those who try, in vain, to colonize the future of an entire region.

The imperialist symbiosis

The relationship between Israel and the United States is one of mutual dependence and has an organic and predatory character. For US imperialism, Israel is the essential instrument to guarantee dominance over energy and commercial routes in the Middle East. Without the uninterrupted flow of billions of dollars in state-of-the-art weaponry and Washington’s diplomatic shield in international forums, the Zionist project would collapse under the weight of its own illegalities. In contrast, Israel carries out the “dirty work” of the occupation, testing technologies of repression and fragmenting neighboring nations through systematic aggression.
