Ingredients

  • 2 boxes of Bis (about 30 units)

  • 1 can of condensed milk

  • 2 cans of milk (use the empty condensed milk can as a measure)

  • 2 egg yolks

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

  • 200g of cream

  • 3 egg whites

  • 4 tablespoons of sugar

  • Chocolate powder or chocolate shavings for decoration

Directions

  • In a pan, mix the condensed milk, egg yolks, cornstarch and milk. 
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and starts to boil. 
    After boiling, cook for another 2 minutes. 
    Remove from heat, add vanilla essence and let cool.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff. 
    When they start to get firm, add the sugar little by little and continue beating until you get a firm meringue.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the cream with the meringue, incorporating gently to maintain the lightness of the cream.
  • Now it’s time to assemble the pavé. 
    In a refractory or dish, place a thin layer of vanilla cream on the bottom. 
    Then, make a layer with half the Bis, put more cream on top and then add the other half of the Bis. 
    Finish with the rest of the cream.
  • Place in the fridge for a few hours, or ideally overnight, so that the pavé is very cold and firm.
  • When serving, sprinkle with chocolate powder or decorate with chocolate shavings.
