Amid the scale of the conflict in the Middle East, the government of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva condemned Israel’s attacks on Iran and showed concern for peace in the region and worldwide.
“The attacks threaten to immerse the whole region in a wide conflict, with a high risk to peace, security and the world economy. Brazil urges all parties involved in the exercise of the maximum containment and urges to the immediate end of hostilities,” says Itamaraty note.
The deputy leader of the Government in Congress, Deputy Daniel Almeida (PCdoB-BA), says that Israel, with attacks on Iran’s nuclear targets, further elevated the tension in the Middle East.
“In addition to the Genocide of the Palestinian people, the government of Netanyahu now threatens global stability. It is urgent that the international community acts to contain this escalation and protect lives,” says the parliamentarian.
Deputy Jandira Feghali (PCdoB-RJ) noted that while thousands participated in the march for Gaza, demanding the end of the siege and respect for the rights of the Palestinian people, Israel deepened the military offensive with new bombings, total cuts of electricity and internet in Gaza-further aggravating the humanitarian crisis.

“At the same time, he launched an air strike to Iran, reaching strategic targets and killing military authorities, a movement that threatens to drag the entire region to an open and devastating conflict. These events widened the war strategy that has been implemented by Israel, with the backing of Western powers, against the Palestinian people and now against their dominance,” he said.
For her, it is urgent to denounce that what happens in Gaza is not just a war, but a systematic genocide: there are 20 months of massacres, bombing to refugee camps, hospitals, schools, with thousands of dead children and millions living under total blackout, hunger and despair.
“The silence and inertia of the international community are complicit of this tragedy. It is time to break diplomatic and commercial relations with Israel as long as crimes against humanity persist. Military climbing, if not contained, will endanger the stability of the whole region. Therefore, countries need to act firmly, imposing sanctions, interrupting military support and demanding immediate cease. And justice will only exist with the end of occupation and oppression to the Palestinian people, ”said Jandira.
“The world needs to impose boundaries on Benjamin Netanyahu. He leads a criminal and cruel massacre to the Palestinian people and, with the attack open to Iran, a war that can expand the catastrophe. Netanyahu’s insane warfare makes the world more dangerous, with unpredictable consequences,” said Deputy Orlando Silva (PCdoB-SP).
