Protesters for disarmament and against genocide in Gaza were detained on Monday (13) by Berlin police, during a protest at the headquarters of Rheinmetall, a German arms industry, close to the historic Brandenburg Gate in the capital of Germany. Among those detained was Swedish activist Greta Thunberg.

Peacefully Against Genocide protesters blocked the entrances to Rheinmetall, which supplies weapons to Israel and which, according to activists, plans to build another weapons factory to supply the country in the conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon.

“We do this because it is our duty to protest injustice and stand against genocide. Stop the new Rheinmetall factory and stop sending weapons to Israel. Stop the genocide,” Thunberg said.

The Israeli Army launched new airstrikes in southern Lebanon last week, amid a fragile ceasefire agreement reached between Tel Aviv and Beirut.
