Cuban students occupied the streets of Havana this Thursday (2) in an anti-imperialist march against United States sanctions on the island. On bicycles, motorcycles, roller skates and rickshaws they carried Cuban flags and images of Che Guevara.
According to Reuters, protesters shouted slogans against the sanctions as they passed in front of the United States embassy in the Cuban capital.
They still defended sovereignty and criticized external pressures. The act was accompanied by President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who waved to the protesters at the beginning of the route.

The country is facing one of the most severe energy crises responsible for blackouts and food shortages.
“Despite the situation we have today with the lockdown, young people came to participate because this is also a demonstration of commitment to our ideals,” art instructor Carlos Castillo told Reuters.
In Congress, the leader of the PCdoB in the Chamber of Deputies, Jandira Feghali, highlighted the demonstration and showed solidarity with the people of that country.
“In Cuba, a large anti-imperialist march took to the streets of Havana against the cowardly US blockade. By bicycle, motorbike or on foot, young Cubans took to the streets to reaffirm their sovereignty and socialist ideals, in the face of the serious economic and energy crisis that the country is experiencing, with blackouts and shortages of food and fuel, as a result of Donald Trump’s brutal sanctions. All our solidarity with the brave Cuban people!”, wrote the leader in X.
