Ingredients
2 cups of cornmeal
1 cup wheat flour
2 cups of sugar
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
1 pinch of salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round mold with butter and flour.
- In a large bowl, mix the cornmeal, wheat flour, sugar and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs with a fork or whisk until well blended.
Add the milk and oil, and mix well. - Pour the liquid mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until you get a homogeneous mass.
- Add the baking powder and stir gently to incorporate into the dough.
- Pour the batter into the greased tin and bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before unmolding.
- Serve the cornmeal cake warm or at room temperature.
