To make your Chocolate Pavé, use the ingredients below and follow the step-by-step preparation instructions.

Ingredients

  • 1 package of champagne cookies

  • 1 can of condensed milk

  • 1 can of cream

  • 3 tablespoons of chocolate powder

  • 1 tablespoon of butter

  • 200g milk (or semi-sweet) chocolate, chopped

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1 cup ready-made whipped cream (or cream whipped with sugar)

Directions

  • In a pan, mix the condensed milk, chocolate powder and butter.
Place over low heat and stir constantly until the mixture thickens and begins to come away from the bottom of the pan, forming a soft brigadeiro.
    Set aside to cool.
  • In another pan, heat the cream until it starts to boil.
Then remove from the heat and add the chopped chocolate.
Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
    Set aside to cool.
  • In a deep plate, add the milk.
Quickly dip the champagne biscuits in the milk and arrange them at the bottom of a dish or ovenproof dish, forming the first layer.
  • Place half of the brigadeiro over the cookies, spreading it well to cover the entire surface.
  • Add another layer of cookies soaked in milk on top of the brigadeiro.
  • Pour the melted chocolate mixture (ganache) over the cookies, covering them completely.
  • Make another layer of cookies and cover with the rest of the brigadeiro.
  • Finish with a layer of ready-made whipped cream (or cream whipped with sugar).
  • Place the pavé in the fridge for at least a few hours, so that it is well chilled and the layers firm up.
  • When serving, you can decorate with chocolate shavings, chocolate powder or chocolate sprinkles, if desired.
