Ingredients
1 packet of colorless flavorless powdered gelatin (12g)
5 tablespoons of water (75 ml)
1 kilogram of powdered sugar
2 tablespoons corn or almond glucose
2 tablespoons margarine
1 teaspoon almond essence or white vanilla
Directions
- Hydrate the gelatin in water for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Place the pan over low heat or in a bain-marie and add the hydrated gelatin, glucose, margarine and essence.Â
Stir until the mixture is homogeneous, without letting it boil, and turn off the heat. - Pour the mixture onto a smooth, floured surface.
- Start mixing the gelatin with the powdered sugar, little by little, until it forms a homogeneous and malleable mass.
- If the dough is too dry, add more glucose or almonds.
- If the dough is too soft, add more powdered sugar.
- Knead the dough for a few minutes until it is soft and smooth.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- After resting, the dough will be ready to be used to decorate cakes, cupcakes, sweets and others.
