Ingredients

  • 1 cup of wheat flour

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

  • Oil or butter to grease the pan

Directions

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk and melted butter. 
    Mix well.
  • Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until the dough is smooth. 
    Avoid stirring too much, as this can make the pancakes denser.
  • Preheat a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat and grease it with a little oil or butter.
  • Use a ladle or large spoon to pour the batter into the pan. 
    Generally, each pancake should have about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of batter.
  • Cook until bubbles start to form on the surface of the pancake, which will take about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Flip the pancake with a spatula and cook on the other side for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden.
  • Repeat the process with the rest of the dough.
  • Serve your pancakes hot with maple syrup, fruit, butter or any other toppings you prefer.
