Russian presidential advisor, Yuri Ushakov, declared this Tuesday (22) that the recent G7 Summit served its participants to expose a “more blatant imposition of the Western order”. According to him, the group was encouraged to follow this line in a “more active and shameless” way, especially in the context of its unrestricted support for the Kiev regime.

The statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s advisor came during the opening of the “Primakov Readings” International Forum in Moscow, which brings together authorities and academics to discuss the main current issues in international politics.

Commenting on the developments of the G7 summit in the context of the current crisis in the relationship between Moscow and the West, Ushakov noted that the Europeans present at the summit, held in France, “did everything they could to ensure that the West once again consolidated its support for the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine to the last Ukrainian, so that Anchorage (Alaska) would be forgotten and overshadowed by the aftertaste of Evian, although not mineral water,” Ushakov said.

In this context, the Russian presidential advisor reinforced his criticism of the West, arguing that the international order promoted by the “collective West” foresees a hegemonic system based on “selfish motivations”.

“The reality is, and it is impossible not to notice, that the so-called collective West, which, admittedly, still plays a significant role on the global stage, is doing everything possible to replace the international order established after the Second World War with its own rules-based order, created for itself and arbitrarily interpreted only in accordance with its own selfish interests and motivations,” Ushakov said.

He emphasized that the main objective of these actions is to maintain its growing dominance in politics, economics, technology and other spheres. “The West wants to maintain control over international trade flows, finances, value chains and natural resources,” he added.

Ushakov also spoke about the possibility of resuming dialogue with the European Union, confirming Moscow’s willingness to negotiate with the bloc: “We are ready,” declared the presidential advisor. At the same time, he noted that similar attempts had already been made on other occasions.

Earlier, during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia had not rejected dialogue with European countries and was ready to engage if the EU took the initiative. According to Putin, contacts between the intelligence services of Russia and European countries continue.

Moscow welcomes memorandum between US and Iran

Commenting on the agreement reached between the US and Iran on a memorandum of understanding to resolve the conflict in the Persian country, Yuri Ushakov highlighted that Russia welcomes the agreement reached and looks forward to productive negotiations between the parties.

“Russia welcomed the ceasefire and the conclusion of the US-Iran memorandum. We hope that the negotiations that have begun will be productive,” he said.

He also emphasized that Russia’s proposals on the Iranian nuclear issue as part of the deal remain valid. According to him, the path to lasting peace is not imminent.

The 12th International Forum “Primakov Readings” takes place under the theme “A World Without Rules: a power game?” and brings together more than 400 foreign experts in the areas of international security, global politics and economics, from 17 countries.

According to the organizers, the forum’s discussions will focus on the consequences of regional conflicts, the situation in the Middle East, global order scenarios, barriers to global trade and investment and international competition in artificial intelligence.

Five work sessions are scheduled for the two days of the event, including the traditional closing speech by Russian Foreign Minister Serguei Lavrov on June 24.
