The Iranian government stated this Wednesday, 29, that its Armed Forces have “their finger on the trigger”, after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, once again pressured Tehran to accept a nuclear agreement under threat of a “much worse” attack.
“Our courageous Armed Forces are prepared — with their finger on the trigger — to respond immediately and powerfully to ANY aggression against our beloved land, air and sea”, published the Minister of International Relations, Abbas Araghchi, on social media.
The statement was a reaction after Trump publicly stated that Iran must “sit at the table” and accept a nuclear deal under Washington’s terms, warning that, in case of refusal, the United States would be willing to launch a new military attack “much worse” than the one carried out in June last year against Iranian facilities.
In posts on social media, the US president once again mentioned sending a naval “armada” to the region as a form of pressure.
“A massive armada is headed toward Iran. It is moving quickly, with great power, enthusiasm and purpose. It is a larger fleet, led by the great aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, than the one sent to Venezuela,” Trump threatened on his social media.
“Time is running out, this is really essential! As I told Iran once before, MAKE A DEAL! They didn’t, and there was ‘Operation Midnight Hammer’, a great destruction of Iran. The next attack will be much worse!”, he added, in reference to the action in 2025 that hit Iranian nuclear facilities.
At the same time, Araghchi stated that Tehran does not reject the diplomatic route, as long as it is not imposed under military coercion. According to the chancellor, Iran “has always welcomed a mutually beneficial, fair and equitable NUCLEAR AGREEMENT — on a basis of equality and free from coercion, threats and intimidation — that ensures Iran’s rights to PEACEFUL nuclear technology and guarantees the ABSENCE OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS.”

The President of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, also reacted and criticized Washington’s stance by stating that “what we have seen so far from the President of the United States indicates that he seeks to impose his will, to impose his own views politically; if these views are not accepted, he resorts to imposing war.”
