The World Health Organization (WHO) is mobilizing to remove around a thousand Palestinians from Gaza. According to the European director of the WHO, Hans Kluge, in an announcement this Monday (21), those rescued should be women and children who are sick and injured.

According to Kluge, who made a strong appeal for peace and the non-politicization of wars when it comes to health, the evacuation of a thousand additional people will be carried out in the coming months through a collaboration between the UN agency and European Union countries that should welcome them. Israel has committed to not hindering the teams’ access, however, it continues with heavy bombings in the Palestinian territory.
