2 tablespoons of lemon juice
2 tbsp tahini (sesame paste)
1 clove of minced garlic
salt to taste
- Assembly
Flatbread or pita bread
Tomato slices
Cucumber slices
Lettuce leaves

Directions
- In a bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, saffron, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
Add the meat and marinate for at least 1 hour (or overnight in the fridge for a more intense flavor). - Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Skewer the marinated meat on a skewer or place it on a foil-lined baking sheet. - Roast the meat for about 30-40 minutes, or until it is well cooked and browned on the outside.
You can also grill the meat on a barbecue grill. - While the meat is roasting, prepare the yogurt sauce.
In a bowl, mix the natural yogurt, lemon juice, tahini, minced garlic and salt.
Stir well until you get a homogeneous mixture. - Remove the meat from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
Then cut it into thin slices. - Warm the flatbread or pita bread in the oven or in a skillet.
- Assemble the shawarma: put a few slices of meat on the bread, add tomato, cucumber, lettuce and sliced onion.
Drizzle with the yogurt sauce. - Roll up the bread, securing it with aluminum foil or parchment paper, if desired.
- Your homemade shawarma is ready to enjoy!
Enjoy!
