Two representatives of the Special Economic Zone (EEE) of Alábuga, Russia, were in São Paulo last month to officially present to Brazil the program Alabuga Startfocused on technical training and professional insertion of young foreign women. The action reinforces the partnership between the Brazilian Union of Women of the city of São Paulo (UBM – City of São Paulo) and the International Forum of Municipalities of the BRICS countries (IMBRICS), responsible for bringing the initiative to Brazil.

The specialist in relations with the media of the ZEE of Alábuga, Ekaterina Lommas, detailed to Red portal The objectives, structure and benefits of the program, highlighting its relevance in the face of gender inequalities still present in the international labor market. “We live in a constantly changing and development world, where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. However, we have to admit that not all countries live this reality. We often come across situations where women receive smaller salaries than men, even occupying the same positions, or that girls are severely limited in choosing their future. Need, ”he said.

Technical training, cultural exchange and autonomy

Appeared for women aged 18 to 22, the program offers housing, food, monthly salary, technical training and Russian classeswithout charging any registration fee. The only expected expenses are medical examinations and passport issuance. According to Lommas, the benefits are:

  • Psychological: Construction of self -confidence and independence with psychological follow -up throughout the program;
  • Financial: Learning in the management of their own money according to personal needs;
  • Cultural: Participants live and work in an environment that allows the exchange of ideas, customs, traditions, languages ​​and cooking. ”

Security and Infrastructure

The safety of participants, especially because they are foreign in Russian territory, is one of the priorities of the project. Lommas explains that the EEE environment is monitored and protected. “Our country constantly cares about the safety of its citizens. (…) The special economic zone is a private, closed and safe territory – accessed only through control and authorization points. In corporate housing, security is guaranteed by cameras and surveillance 24h. Entry into residential buildings occurs via facial recognition system (face id).

Real growth opportunities

Participants work in areas such as logistics, hospitality, food, production, facilities and finishes. From the first day, they receive practical training accompanied by experienced mentors. Every 6 months, they can be promoted based on performance and russian proficiency – triple the starting salary over time.

In addition, there is a possibility of continuing on studies, entry to the Polytechnic Faculty of Alábuga and Career Construction in both Russia and in the country of origin. “During the stay, it is possible to receive up to 3 promotions. The program is carried out with support from the government of the Russian Federation. Quotas for foreign participants are approved and issued by the Ministry of Labor of Russia,” says Lommas.

Brazil already participates

Currently, about 500 Brazilians are registered in the program and 50 are in the process of issuing documents and visa. The first candidate with a visa approved is expected to arrive in Russia in the coming weeks. The project directly integrates the BRICS+guidelines, focusing on gender equality, international inclusion and combating racism.

“The Alabuga Start program is totally aligned with the BRICS guidelines for gender equality in the labor market. (…) It promotes female empowerment by offering well -paid jobs, technical training, real opportunities for professional growth and financial independence for young women,” concludes Ekaterina.
