Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 and 1/2 cups of sugar

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 can of condensed milk

  • 200g grated coconut

  • 1 tablespoon of butter

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a round pan measuring approximately 24 cm in diameter with butter and flour.
  • In a large bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. 
    Mix the dry ingredients well.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs lightly and then add the milk, vegetable oil and vanilla extract. 
    Mix well.
  • Pour the liquid ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix until you obtain a homogeneous dough.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • While the cake bakes, prepare the coconut frosting. 
    In a pan, mix the condensed milk, grated coconut and butter.
  • Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and begins to come away from the bottom of the pan.
  • Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes in the pan. 
    Then unmold and place it on a serving plate.
  • Cover the cake with the coconut icing while it is still hot. 
    Spread the frosting over the entire surface of the cake.
  • Let the cake cool completely before serving. 
    The flavor of Prestige cake improves even more if you let it rest for a few hours or overnight before serving.
