Make a Skillet Pizza using the ingredients below and choosing the ones you want for your filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of wheat flour

  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup warm water

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • pizza sauce

  • Grated mozzarella cheese

  • Your favorite topping ingredients (e.g. pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, olives, onion, etc.)

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, baking powder and salt.
  • Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry mixture and mix well until a dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead it for a few minutes until it is soft and elastic.
  • Divide the dough into two equal parts and roll each one into thin circles that fit in your frying pan.
  • Preheat a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat. 
    When it is hot, place one of the doughs in the dry frying pan and cook for a few minutes until the bottom is golden.
  • Turn the dough over and spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the browned part of the dough.
  • Add shredded mozzarella cheese and topping ingredients of your choice over the sauce.
  • Cover the skillet with a lid or a sheet of aluminum foil and cook for a few more minutes until the cheese has melted and the bottom of the pastry is golden brown.
  • Remove the pizza from the pan and repeat the process with the second dough and topping ingredients.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade skillet pizza!
