Make your Oven Pastry following the step-by-step preparation instructions and filling with whatever you want.

Ingredients

  • Pastry dough (can be purchased ready-made or made at home)

  • Filling of your choice (cheese, ham, chicken, meat, hearts of palm, spinach, etc.)

  • Egg (to brush the dough)

  • Oregano (optional, for sprinkling)

Directions

  • Preheat the oven according to the pastry dough instructions.
  • Roll out the pastry dough on a flat surface and cut it into circles or squares, depending on the size you want to make the pastries.
  • Place a portion of the chosen filling in the center of each piece of dough.
  • Fold the dough in half, covering the filling, and press the edges with a fork to seal well.
  • Place the pastries on a lightly greased baking sheet or lined with parchment paper.
  • Crack an egg into a container and beat it lightly with a fork. 
    Brush the surface of each pastry with the beaten egg. 
    This will give the dough a shiny, golden color during baking.
  • If desired, sprinkle a little oregano over the pastries to add flavor.
  • Place the pastries in the preheated oven and bake according to the dough instructions, normally until they are golden and crispy.
