Oven Coke

Cocada de Forno is a typical dessert of Brazilian cuisine, which is prepared with grated coconut, sugar, milk and eggs. It is called “oven” because it is baked in the oven, rather than being cooked in a pot on the stove.

To make cocada in the oven, you can follow this simple recipe:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups grated coconut

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 3 eggs

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a bowl, mix the grated coconut and sugar.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs with a fork and add the milk. 
    Mix well.
  • Add the egg and milk mixture to the coconut and sugar mixture and stir well.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased shape with butter and wheat flour.
  • Bake the cocada in the oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let the cocada cool and cut into pieces before serving.
