Princess of Wales is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer and will not take part in rehearsal for King Charles III’s birthday parade

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, 42, sent a letter apologizing to the Irish Guards for not attending the rehearsal of the Trooping the Colour, parade celebrating King Charles 3rd’s birthday, on November 14th. Kate is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.

The Princess of Wales is the honorary colonel of the parade and is responsible for leading the event that will take place on June 15th. “How proud I am of the entire regiment at the head of the Colonel’s Review and the Trooping of the Color”wrote Kate in a letter published by the Irish Guard on X (formerly Twitter).

“I wanted to write to say how proud I am of the entire regiment before the Colonel’s Review and Trooping the Color.

“I thank everyone taking part in Trooping this year, who have been rehearsing for months and putting in many hours to ensure their uniforms and drills are impeccable.

“Being your ‘Colonel’ continues to be a great honor and I am sorry that I cannot receive the salute in this year’s Colonel’s Review. Please convey my apologies to the entire regiment, however, I hope to be able to represent you again soon.

“Please send my best wishes and good luck to everyone involved.”
