Ingredients

  • 500g ground meat (can be lamb, beef or a mixture of the two)

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped

  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder

  • 1 teaspoon of paprika

  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Wooden sticks for skewers (previously soaked in water for about 30 minutes)

Directions

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt and pepper. Make sure all ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Wet your hands with water to prevent the meat mixture from sticking to them. Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into elongated sausages.
  • Skewer the kaftas onto wooden sticks, forming skewers.
  • Preheat the grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
  • Grill the koftas for approximately 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked on the inside and golden on the outside.
  • Serve the koftas hot, accompanied by yogurt sauce, pita bread, rice or salad, depending on your preference.
