Ingredients
500g ground meat (can be lamb, beef or a mixture of the two)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon of paprika
1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Wooden sticks for skewers (previously soaked in water for about 30 minutes)
Directions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt and pepper. Make sure all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Wet your hands with water to prevent the meat mixture from sticking to them. Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into elongated sausages.
- Skewer the kaftas onto wooden sticks, forming skewers.
- Preheat the grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
- Grill the koftas for approximately 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked on the inside and golden on the outside.
- Serve the koftas hot, accompanied by yogurt sauce, pita bread, rice or salad, depending on your preference.
