Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (at least 35% fat content)

  • 2 tablespoons icing sugar (or to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Directions

  • Make sure the cream and all the utensils you are going to use are very cold. 
    This will help to obtain a more consistent whipped cream.
  • Place the cream in the mixer bowl.
  • Start beating the cream at low speed. 
    As it starts to thicken, you can increase the mixer speed.
  • Once the cream begins to form soft peaks, add the confectioners’ sugar and vanilla extract (if using).
  • Continue beating the whipped cream until it reaches the desired consistency. 
    Be careful not to overbeat, as the cream could turn into butter. 
    The whipped cream should be firm but still soft and creamy.
  • Taste the whipped cream and adjust the amount of sugar according to your taste. 
    If you prefer a sweeter whipped cream, add more sugar and mix well.
  • Homemade whipped cream is ready to be used as a topping on desserts, cakes, pies or any other recipe you prefer.
