  • 500g wheat flour

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

  • 2 teaspoons of salt

  • 1 sachet of dry yeast (10g)

  • 1 egg

  • 100 ml of warm milk

  • 100ml of warm water

  • 50g butter at room temperature


  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar and salt.
  • In another bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk.
  • Add the egg and butter to the yeast mixture and mix well.
  • Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture along with the warm water. 
    Mix until you get a homogeneous mass.
  • Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Form the dough into a ball and place in a lightly oiled bowl. 
    Cover with a tea towel and let rest in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Divide the dough into small portions and shape into little tubes. 
    Place on an oiled baking sheet and let rest for another 10 minutes.
  • Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
