Directions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- In a large bowl, mix the wheat flour and salt.
Add the chilled butter and mix with your fingertips until you get a crumbly texture.
Add the ice water little by little and mix until a homogeneous mass is formed. - On a floured surface, open the dough with a rolling pin until it is about 0.5 cm thick.
Line the bottom and sides of a pie pan. - In a large pan, heat a little oil or olive oil over medium heat.
Add the onion and garlic and sauté until soft and lightly golden. - Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until it is well browned and cooked through.
Season with salt, pepper, cumin powder and paprika powder. - Add grated carrots, peas and corn (if using) to the ground beef stir-fry.
- Cook for a few more minutes until the vegetables are soft.
- Add the tomato sauce and cook for another 2-3 minutes for the flavors to blend.
- Transfer the minced meat filling to the mold with the dough.
- Cover the pie with another layer of dough, sealing the edges well.
Make small cuts in the top to allow steam to escape during cooking. - Bake the pie in the preheated oven for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.
