Ingredients

  • 400g fettuccine

  • 1 cup (225g) butter

  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream

  • 1 1/2 cups (150g) grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Nutmeg to taste (optional)

  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Directions

  • Cook the fettuccine in a large pan of salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve.
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Don’t let it burn, just melt.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and add cream to melted butter. Stir well to combine.
  • Gradually add the Parmesan cheese to the mixture, stirring constantly. Continue stirring until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is creamy.
  • Season the sauce with salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. Remember to taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  • Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and stir well to ensure the pasta is well coated.
  • Serve immediately, sprinkling with chopped fresh parsley on top, if desired.
