Ingredients
400g fettuccine
1 cup (225g) butter
1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
1 1/2 cups (150g) grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Nutmeg to taste (optional)
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Directions
- Cook the fettuccine in a large pan of salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Don’t let it burn, just melt.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and add cream to melted butter. Stir well to combine.
- Gradually add the Parmesan cheese to the mixture, stirring constantly. Continue stirring until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Season the sauce with salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. Remember to taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and stir well to ensure the pasta is well coated.
