These easy-to-prepare, affordable cornstarch donuts are a hit!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole egg

  • 200 grams of corn starch

  • 100 ml of water at room temperature

  • 1 cup (tea) wheat flour (240 ml)

  • 1 teaspoon butter or margarine

  • 1 teaspoon(s) yeast

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

  • In a container place the corn starch, wheat flour, yeast, salt and sugar.
  • Add the water, the egg and mix the ingredients with your hands. 
    Add the butter or margarine and knead the dough well until smooth and uniform.
  • Cover the dough with a plastic film, let it rest for 30 minutes to rise and transfer to a smooth, clean and floured surface.
  • Cut portions of the dough in the shape of a circle with a glass or cutter, place on top of parchment paper and let rest for 15 minutes.
  • Make a hole in the middle of each donut and bake in a preheated oven at 200º₢ for 15 to 20 minutes, or fry in hot oil until golden.
  • Transfer the cornstarch donuts to a platter or plate of your choice and they are ready to eat.
