This Minas Gerais cheese bread recipe undoubtedly has everything it needs to become your favorite snack!

Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 eggs

  • 500 grams of sweet cassava starch

  • 300 grams of grated semi-hard cheese

  • 1 level tablespoon of salt

  • 150 ml of water

  • 120 ml of oil

  • 150 ml of milk

Directions

  • In a container, place the sweet cassava starch and salt. Mix well and set aside.
  • Add water, oil and milk to a cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil and turn off when it boils.
  • Blanch the cassava starch with the hot liquid mixture, stir well and let the dough rest for 5 minutes or until cold.
  • Add the eggs and knead the ingredients until a homogeneous dough is formed.
  • Add the grated cheese and knead again to add the cheese to the dough.
  • Shape the loaves and place them on a greased baking tray with space between them.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180º₢ for 30 minutes or until nicely browned.
  • Remove the breads from the pan after they have cooled a little and they are ready to serve.
