The governments of Canada, Mexico and China will retaliate the United States after US President Donald Trump announces 25% tariff barriers against Mexican and Canadian products and 10% against Chinese goods. The three countries are the largest US business partners.

This Saturday (1st), Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that his country will relate US products by 25% and encouraged its population to travel within the country.

“The Canadians understood that they need to answer. We do not want to scale the crisis. But let’s defend Canada, ”says Trudeau.

The prime minister told reporters that tariffs will reach various American products such as beer, wine, bourbon, fruits, fruit juices, clothing, sports equipment and appliances.

China, in turn, decided to contest Trump’s rates through the World Trade Organization (WTO).

In a statement issued on Sunday (2), the Ministry of Commerce of that country says that “the imposition of US tariffs seriously violates the WTO rules.”

“China is prepared to implement contracted, if necessary, including possible restrictions on exports of essential materials such as Germanium and graffiti,” says ministry note, for whom these tariffs could interrupt global supply chains and increase costs for consumers and companies.
