Popular movements and solidarity organizations will carry out, this Tuesday (28), an act in honor of the victims of the earthquake that hit Venezuela on June 24th. The activity will take place at 5pm, at the headquarters of the Venezuelan Embassy, ​​in Brasília, and will include the signing of a “Book of Condolences” and a symbolic tribute in memory of the victims.

The initiative is organized by the Movimento Liberdade para Cília e Maduro and the Coletivo Advogados e Advogados pela Democracia (Caad). After signing the book, participants will place black ribbons on a six-meter Venezuelan flag, in a collective gesture of mourning and solidarity. The ceremony will also feature musical performances, including the participation of Fabiano Trompetista, as well as other musicians who will perform the Venezuelan national anthem.

According to the organization, the Venezuelan ambassador to Brazil, Manuel Vadell, former minister Gilberto Carvalho and the Cuban ambassador to Brazil were invited to participate in the event. So far, attendance is still awaiting confirmation.

In addition to paying tribute to the victims, the act seeks to reaffirm the solidarity of the Brazilian people with the Venezuelan people in the face of the tragedy. Organizers invite participants to bring white roses and other symbolic expressions of support.

The mobilization occurs at a time when different Brazilian civil society organizations have been promoting fundraising campaigns and humanitarian support initiatives for populations affected by the earthquake, reinforcing the ties of solidarity between Brazil and Venezuela.
