Follow the instructions on how to prepare your Braised Zucchini to be perfect!

Ingredients

  • 2 medium zucchini

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 2 minced garlic cloves

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Juice of half a lemon (optional)

Directions

  • Wash the zucchinis well and cut them into thin slices or cubes, according to your preference.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and saute for about 1 minute, until fragrant and lightly browned. 
    Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  • Add the zucchini slices to the skillet. 
    Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix well so that the garlic and oil spread over the zucchinis.
  • Sauté the courgettes for about 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender but still slightly crunchy. 
    Time may vary depending on the thickness of the slices.
  • If desired, squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the sauteed zucchinis for a citrusy kick. 
    This is optional and can be omitted if preferred.
  • Remove from heat and serve immediately as a side dish or as part of a main dish. 
    Braised zucchini goes very well with rice, pasta or as a garnish for meats.
