Building housing people displaced by war collapses after being hit by Israeli bombing

An Israeli airstrike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip killed 13 Palestinians and left dozens trapped, a spokesman for the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital told CNN International.

According to Civil Defense in Gaza, the bombing hit a 4-story building that housed at least 100 people displaced by the war. The attack occurred at around 2am (local time) this Tuesday (May 14, 2024), 8pm on Monday (May 13) in Brasília.

The building was leveled by the bombing, which also hit a school run by the UN (United Nations) and neighboring buildings.

The death toll is expected to rise, as people who were sheltering there are missing. Israel has struck the Nuseirat refugee camp several times in recent months.
