It is not new that Donald Trump’s excesses attract attention. But in addition to a supposed insanity that has plunged the planet into an endless crisis, marked by tariffs and wars, the president of the United States also exaggerates his narcissism, not only by placing himself above the rules, but by developing what psychiatrists would describe as a God Complex.

Many would think that, despite his arrogant behavior, Trump would not go so far as to position himself as a Supreme Being. However, in his recent clash with Pope Leo 14 (placed in the liturgy of the Catholic Church which considers him the representative of Jesus Christ on Earth), the US president exceeded the limits of common sense (once again) and committed the sacrilege of putting himself in the place of Jesus Christ.

This happened in a publication on his social media platform, Truth Social, in which he posted an image made by artificial intelligence that refers to Jesus in the act of healing a sick person, but with his face.

Pope Leo 14 says he is not afraid of Trump and defends peacebuilding

The image received a barrage of criticism, which made him delete the post. Before that, Trump had called the pope “weak on crime and terrible on foreign policy.” The attacks are based on Leo 14’s uncompromising defense against the conflict in Iran, as well as criticism of the attack on Venezuela.

The pontiff even responded that he did not fear his compatriot and that he would continue to preach the defense of the Gospel and world peace.

This wasn’t the first time Trump published AI-generated images that caused controversy. He had already placed himself as king and even as pope, but now he stopped wanting to be just the “representative of Jesus on Earth” to be Christ himself.

Blasphemy

The image of the “Trump of Nazareth” displeased the president’s Republican base and the numerous criticisms made him delete it.

Despite this, the US president maintained his speech against Pope Leo 14. For journalists, he once again called the pontiff weak and stated that he is in favor of crime.

Even after deleting the image from the networks, prints continued to circulate on the internet and the post also displeased his far-right ally, the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, who classified the acts against the Pope as unacceptable.

In the meantime, Meloni also withdrew Italy’s support for defense cooperation with Israel. Furthermore, Trump stated that she refused to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

To the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, Trump fired at Meloni: “I’m shocked by her. I thought she had courage. I was wrong,” said the US president, who is now opening up a crisis with allies.
