Ali Khamenei, supreme leader of Iran, is assassinated in attack ordered by Trump and Netanyahu

Once again, the terrible side of imperialism and Zionism showed that it does not respect the sovereignty of the people by tearing up the UN Charter and carrying out cowardly military action while pretending to negotiate a nuclear agreement. This Saturday’s attack (28) in Iran, in addition to leaving hundreds dead and injured, claimed the life of Iranian supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, aged 86.

Confirmation of the head of state’s death came through Iranian state media, which reported that he was in his office when the bombing of the residence took place, ordered by Donald Trump, president of the United States, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In a statement, the IRNA news agency stated: “The leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, was martyred by attacks by the Israeli and US regimes.”

The Iranian government announced 40 days of mourning and seven days of holidays. The country’s leadership is expected to be provisionally assumed by a junta made up of President Masoud Pezeshkian, head of the Judiciary Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei and Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, a jurist on the Guardian Council.

Pezeshkian said Iran has the right to respond to the ayatollah’s death and described the foreign military action as a declaration of war.

February marked the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, which put an end to the reactionary, right-wing, pro-United States monarchical regime, led by Shah Reza Pahlavi.

Khamenei had been in the post since 1989, when he took over after the death of Ruhollah Khomeini, the first supreme leader. Previously, he served as president of the country between 1981 and 1989.

The supreme leadership is the highest authority in the Persian country, a lifetime position with the title of ayatollah, who performs the function of head of state, has the role of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, in addition to being the main Islamic religious figure.

Murder

Information about the death had already been the subject of speculation since Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said he had strong evidence about the fact after the bombing that hit the supreme leader’s residence in the capital Tehran.

“This morning, we eliminated senior officials of the ayatollahs’ regime, commanders of the Revolutionary Guard, key figures in the nuclear program – and we will continue. In the coming days, we will hit thousands of other targets,” Netanyahu threatened.

In the same vein, Trump used social media to indicate death, announcing that the attacks on Iran must continue, without hiding his real intention, which is the overthrow of the ayatollahs’ regime.

Iranian media points out that Khamenei’s daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter also died in the attack.
